Job Description
Ensures the coordination of health and safety of all American Hospital Dubai’s stakeholders in full compliance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), United Arab Emirates and Federal regulations and laws as amended from time to time. Monitor occupational health and safety policy and objectives by raising awareness, collecting reports, escalating key issues and statistical data to the Senior Safety and Security Officer.
Responsibilities
- Communicates Health, Safety and Security requirements across all American Hospital Dubai’s employees.
- Monitors Facilities Management and Safety program, policies, standards and guidelines throughout the organization.
- Provides monthly Health, Safety reports to the Senior Safety and Security Officer.
- Compiles reports on Fire Drills, Tier 1 inspections, Construction Site inspections, follow-up on the corrective or preventive measures etc. and maintain records.
- Maintains the HAZMAT lists for the individual units, improve awareness on HAZMAT among the staff, update the HAZMAT database and SDS folders up to date.
- Supports the implementation of Health, Safety and Security policy objectives.
- Meets regularly on-site with the unit heads and discuss arising issues and monitoring performance and report to Senior Safety and Security Officer.
- Assists Senior Safety and Security Officer to investigate incidents which pose a potential risk.
- Assists Senior Safety and Security Officer to ensure the incident/accident investigations are completed and closed in a timely manner by complying with American Hospital Dubai’s policies and document it.
- Assists the Senior Safety and Security Officer to implement effective and streamlined mitigation strategies to reduce the potential risks.
- Ensures the Pre-Construction Risk Assessment (PCRA) & Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) were done for all the required projects and assist Senior Safety and Security Officer for the implementation of action plans with Contractor and monitors it on site.
- Reviews the requests for Permits (Work Permit, Hot Work Permit, Shutdown Permits, Isolation Permits, Gate Pass requests etc.) and verify with required documents.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certificate in Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS-100 preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Healthcare Industry Facilities Management in an Internationally Accredited Hospital.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
- Knowledge of Fire and Safety systems and equipment.
- Knowledge on Fire Safety, Risks, HAZMAT.
- Skills in Information Technology include Microsoft Office Access.
- Skills in conducting independent accident investigations.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
- Skills in Data Collection and Report Generation.
