Job Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students and help them understand academic rules/policies.
- Coordinate student advising and registration.
- Assist in scheduling classes and coordinating textbook orders.
- Assist in managing and scheduling events, including printing of promotional materials and programs.
- Handle phone inquiries and act as department help desk.
- Enter requisitions and maintenance requests on the system or through email.
- Act as custodian of documents and records, including database and spreadsheet files.
- Create various departmental reports needed by the Faculty, Head, Dean’s office.
- Deal with day-to-day student issues including petitions and transfer issues.
- Create and administer various online surveys.
- Help organize student events.
- Coordinate with the faculty concerning their grants and other forms.
- Coordinating student course evaluations.
- Perform other related administrative functions as necessary or as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experience with online scheduling tools
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of student registration processes.
- Skill in data archiving and analytics.
- Skill in writing effective reports
- Available to work on weekends if necessary.
Qualifications and Skills Preferred
- Experience in a higher education work environment.
- Knowledge of the higher education system in an American University’s context.
- Familiarity with banner registration system.
