Job Description
- Admit patients by receiving booking forms/OT lists
- Confirm physicians’ admitting privileges
- Interview patients
- Enter patient info into the pre-admissions database
- Liaise with insurance department to validate coverage and/or payment/copayment for scheduled patients
- Collaborate with insurance department to send claim forms for emergency admissions (network or non-network cases)
- Confirm co-payments and patient liability for excesses or insurance shortfalls
- Coordinate with non-insured emergency admissions for payments and securing signed undertaking letters
- Communicate queries or authorization needs from non-contracted insurances to RCM
- Maintain patient trackers to update management on financial status
- Pre-register all patients in Meditech
- Work with medical records department/bed manager to send midnight bed view (census) reports for occupancy tracking
- Ensure financial coverage and co-payment are confirmed before discharge to avoid loss
- Confirm patient demographics in Meditech upon patient arrival
- Follow business process requirements for insurance form completion
- Collect payments (fees, insurance excess, co-payments) at admission and issue invoices/receipts
- Enter payments and manage Cash Drawer routine in Meditech; balance payments at end of shift
- Coordinate with bed manager/nurse managers for ward/room assignments and bed reallocations
- Escort patients or arrange escorts to assigned rooms or wards
- Comply with departmental and hospital policies and guidelines
- Participate in meetings as needed and contribute to department/hospital development
- Foster teamwork, positive attitudes, and high morale in the work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by evolving departmental requirements
- Adhere to shift roster requirements to ensure coverage in admissions department
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards, and procedures
- Follow documented OSH procedures and instructions specific to the role
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
- Notify on OSH hazards, incidents, near-misses, and assist with risk assessments and incident reporting
- Adhere to waste management procedures and policies
- Attend mandatory OSH/infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness sessions
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols

Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree holder with MS Office knowledge and typing skills.
- Good command of oral and written English language, Arabic is desirable not mandatory.
- Prior working in Admission Office or Patient Service Area.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare industry.
