Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in implementing reward strategies, processes and solutions that best support the delivery of the HR Agenda.
- Conduct annual manpower planning reviews, ensures budget vs actual are captured regularly and ensures business is aligned
- Support the development and maintenance of AU’s manpower plans (manpower size, quality and organization) and organization structures in order to ensure alignment to business requirements
- Periodically monitor and report on manpower activities, mix of manpower and review actual manpower movements against planned to ensure that plans are adhered to and the necessary actions are taken.
- Perform activities related to the collection, compilation and analysis of data requisite for the development of annual manpower budget i.e. position change, transfer, replacement, available vacancies, etc. liaising with the colleges and offices to ensure timely completion of manpower planning budget.
- Update, and maintain organization charts under the guidance of the Manager Rewards and Manpower ensuring that requested variations are in line with the set manpower plans and company policies in order to ensure smooth and adequate implementation.
- Support and coordinate job analysis interviews, and develop and review job descriptions, and job hierarchy for all positions within AU ensuring all budgeted positions have well defined and have updated job descriptions
- Support the University’s job evaluation process to ensure that evaluation practice is consistently applied across the University, supporting grading decisions and supporting the mitigation of any equal pay claims, providing information, written guidance documents and templates to all HR teams participating in job evaluation panels.
- Support the maintenance of the job evaluation database, tracking the status of roles for evaluation across the University and ensuring that accurate documentation is available for JE panels, maintaining job evaluation records, ensuring that grades and scores are accurately logged.
- Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and various platforms
- Recommend quality HR metrics and ensures all relevant metrics are documented and tracked
- Assist in the analysis of AU compensation policies in relation to similar jobs in comparable industries or geographic areas.
- Ensure compensation practices are in compliance with current legislation.
- Use various methods and techniques and make data based decisions on direct financial, indirect financial and nonfinancial compensations.
- Participate in salary and labour market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits
- Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices.
- Ensures system accuracy for rewards provision to eliminate discrepancies of payroll information and/or documentation for the purpose of ensuring adherence to procedures prior to processing.
- Assist with the design & development of AU’s policies, procedures and processes in order to ensure compliance & alignment to the University’s strategic objectives
- Maintain custody of all HR employment policies, processes, procedures, contract templates and forms, and practices, and recommend changes to management.
