Responsibilities
- Teach allocated students by planning teaching to achieve outstanding progression of learning.
- Create a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teaching.
- Identify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed.
- Set tasks that challenge students and ensure high levels of interest.
- Set appropriate and demanding expectations.
- Set clear targets, building on prior attainment.
- Identify SEN or very able students.
- Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge.
- Make effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study.
- Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning matched to need.
- Ensure effective teaching and best use of available time.
- Maintain an effective learning environment in line with academy procedures.
- Encourage good practice regarding punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to:
- Match approach to content, structure information, present key ideas, and use appropriate vocabulary.
- Use effective questioning, listen carefully, and address errors and misconceptions.
- Select appropriate learning resources and develop study skills through library, ICT, and other learning technologies.
- Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills, and understanding relevant to the subject taught.
- Evaluate own teaching critically to improve effectiveness.
- Ensure effective and efficient deployment of classroom support.
Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting
- Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use results to improve teaching.
- Mark and monitor students’ work and set targets for progress.
- Use performance data to inform planning and ensure teaching continues to add value.
- Assess and record students’ progress systematically to:
- Check understanding and completion of work.
- Monitor strengths and areas for development.
- Inform planning.
- Recognise achievement levels.
- Undertake assessments as required by examination bodies and academy procedures.
- Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in subject or academy-wide work and develop plans with clear targets and success criteria.
- Contribute to the academy’s overall vision and development.
Other Professional Requirements
- Have a working knowledge of teachers’ professional duties and legal responsibilities.
- Operate within academy policies and practices at all times.
- Establish effective working relationships and set a strong personal and professional example.
- Endeavour to help every child reach their potential and meet high expectations.
- Cooperate with colleagues to share and use resources effectively for the benefit of the academy, departments, and students.
- Contribute to academy life through meetings and management systems.

- Liaise effectively with parents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education in Art/ performing Arts or BA Degree with Postgraduate Certificate in Education
- 2 years of experience in the given position.
- Previous experience working with students whose English is not their first language.
- Good knowledge of Primary pedagogy.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age, and ethnic background.
- A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
