LAB Accessioning Coordinator

Provides administrative support for laboratory management and pathology services.

• Promotes a safe working environment.
• Upholds ethical practices and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Provides reception support for the laboratory.
• Supports transcription, filing, report distribution, etc.
• Maintains general office supplies.
• Participates in laboratory Quality Improvements (QI) activities.
• Assists with follow-up of incidents/accidents and patient and staff complaints.
• Engages in the lab monthly focus group.
• Participates regularly in continuing education activities.
• Liaises with internal and external laboratory clients as required.
• Maintains open lines of communication with the Director of Laboratory Services & Outreach /Supervisor, section supervisors, colleagues, and other hospital services as needed.
• Responds to test/report inquiries from laboratory clients.
• Assist in specimen and Outreach Patient registration as required.
• Responsible for assisting in ordering of all reagents, supplies, consumables,  and any other inventory item(s) related to the operation of the Laboratory.
• Data collection ,entry and documentation of the Laboratory Operations /Quality related documents required for Laboratory accreditation.
• Collaborate with lab technicians, pathologists, or other lab staff to ensure that specimens are properly directed.
