Maintenance Engineer Jobs in Dubai, UAE
Job Description
Role Purpose: To supervise the day-to-day activities of technicians/ fitters / electrician to ensure that all jobs performed are to required standards and in compliance with the highest Safety and Quality Standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supervises planned and unplanned maintenance activities performed by the subordinates and contractors in order to provide safe and uninterrupted service to the Operating units
- Prepares technical scope of work, sketches, attachments for outsourced maintenance jobs, evaluates bids both technically and commercially and provides recommendations for selection in consultation with Maintenance Engineer
- Assists the Maintenance Engineer in reviewing equipment performance and recommends for replacement / write-off to optimize operations and minimize maintenance related costs
- Contributes in the related maintenance activities in order to conform with the set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) & Quality Policies of the Corporation
- Motivates staff and assist them to use right tools in order to ensure accident free and productive work
- Gives clear direction to the work so that the craftsman understands and executes the right job
- Processes the workflow of the Section through computerized maintenance management system in order to capture history and to report actuals
- Facilitates availability of spare parts for the craftsman to perform their duty
- Gathers input into the business planning and budgeting for the related unit/section including the review of historical data, determining the activities for year and forecasting the resources required
- Assists maintenance engineer in developing annual maintenance budget estimates for the assets in the assigned areas
- Motivates staff and empowers direct reports by providing the necessary tools and support required to support Section goals and objectives
- Establishes clear direction, prioritizes tasks, assigns and delegates responsibility and monitors workflow
- Provides guidance and ensures that direct reports comply with EMARAT’s policies, processes, practices and systems
- Ensures proper target setting and staff performance management in line with EMARAT performance management guidelines
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Good knowledge of Facilities Management Supervisory techniques
- Higher National Diploma
- A minimum of 6 years of experience within Maintenance with at least 2 years in supervisory role
- Experience in the Oil & Gas Distribution or FMCG Industry preferred
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in English.
