Track Geometry Car Senior Operator

Position Overview

The Geometry Car Senior Operator will be accountable and responsible for the operation and maintenance of the track geometry vehicle

Roles and Responsibility

• Operate the TGMV along railway tracks to collect track geometry data.
• Assist in the scheduling for the recording of track geometry is created and followed as per required data collection frequencies.
• Ensure safe and efficient movement of the vehicle, adhering to Etihad Railway regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness.
• Ensuring that components required for the vehicle are on hand to ensure the system is in constant operation.
• Perform the necessary adjustments or measurements on the production equipment, so that the appropriate quality and body geometry can be obtained on cars.
• Ensure that production is informed prior to the adjustments of process equipment.
• Monitor real-time data collection and report any abnormalities to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in working with the measuring equipment, have knowledge in various quality assurance measuring systems and new measuring machines.
• Respond to vehicle and Measuring system faults and report technical fault to Vehicle maintenance team.
• Plan and carry out preventative maintenance (PM) and ensure continuous monitoring of the process equipment.
• Work with continuous improvement to prevent geometry problems. In collaboration with the Geometry Car Engineer and the Track Reliability Manager, make decisions within your own area of responsibility and under current frameworks (economic conditions).
• Participate in decision-making meetings.
• Develop tools, models, and processes for continuous improvements.
• Maintain data integrity.
• Operate under ETCS system Level II, track possessions and Route Set & Lock.
• Acquire all ER Network routes knowledge.
• Conduct PIC (Person in Charge) duties.
• Perform critical communication (GSM-R radio).
• Attend all required internal/external trainings.
• Actual work to be perform all over ER Network across UAE

Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience

Academic Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or secondary education.

Experience:

• Relevant industry experience minimum 5 Years
• Mechanical/ Electrical aptitude.
• Experience in writing reports.
• Knowledge of applicable discipline-based railway standards.
• Light vehicle driving license.

Other Skills:

• English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill.
• ETCS system Level II.
• Good planning skills.
• Analytical skills for problem solving.
• Basis skills in MS Office Programs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to motivate and direct employees.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team.
