Roles and Responsibility:

• Plans, coordinates and executes the welding tasks at the highest standard to ensure that the welding and grinding are within the approved tolerances
• Executes the welding activities such as: Aluminothermic Welding, Flashbutt Welding, Cutting rail, Clipping and un-clipping rail, Use of the rail tensor, Spot rail grinding, Turnout grinding, Manual tamping at the welding joint, & other general track maintenance activities.
• PS, PIC and WS duties.
• Operates the welding equipment in accordance with the operating manual and specifications
• Responsible for the welding equipment.
• Performs operator maintenance on the welding equipment in accordance with the supplier’s guidelines and specifications.
• Supports the operation of the Track Maintenance Supervisor works scheduling and follow-up service.
• Ensures that the welding activities are performed according to the environmental guidelines for the prevention of fires and in a safe manner.
• Ensures a safe working environment for all employees and contractors operating in Etihad Rail.

Academic Qualifications:

• School Certificate or equivalent

Professional Qualifications:

• Welding certificate
• Knowledge of Track Geometry and destressing techniques
• Full driving license (Light and Heavy)

Experience:

• Relevant industry experience
• Experience in writing reports

Other Skills:

• English as first language or advanced level of verbal skill
• Good planning skills
• Ability to work in a multicultural team.
