About the job

The Facility Maintenance Technician executes any routine and ad-hoc maintenance of the Depot Railway Equipements as per the direction given by the Facilities Maintenance Foreman and Facilities Supervisor.

Responsible to perform Depot Railway Equipment tasks in one or more fields (e.g. Wheel Shop machines, Compressed Air system, Rolling stock washing system, Rolling stock Fuelling & Reticulated fluid system, Lifting Jacks, EOT Cranes, CET & Depot Protection system,etc.)

Roles and Responsibility:

  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (trouble shoot with PLCs, PCBs ,VFDs ,Control modules, Relays ,etc).
  • Assist in the maintenance of Wheel shop equipments like Under floor Wheel Lathe , Portal Lathe, Vertical Wheel Boring Machines, Wheel drop table and perform trouble shooting when necessary.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Lifting systems like Lifting Jacks, Loco & Wagon Stands , EOT Cranes ,etc systems to ensure they are functional.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Rolling stock Washing systems like Under floor Washing, Mobile Washing, Bogie wash ,etc to ensure they are functional.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Rolling stock Fuelling ,Reticulated Fluid and CET systems to ensure they are functional.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Depot Protection systems to ensure they are functional.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Paint booth, Blasting systems to ensure they are functional.
  • Work under the supervision of the Facility Maintenance Foreman.
  • Supervise sub-contractors of building maintenance to ensure Safe System at work is followed.

Academic Qualifications:

Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical or equivalent

Professional Qualifications:

  • Light vehicle driving license preferred
  • Certificate in Building Maintenance would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge on SAP preferred
  • MS Office

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of working/hands on experience in building facilities maintenance
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and Rolling stock equipments
  • Other Skills:
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform multi-task work
  • Report writing skills
