Scope: Officer – Payroll is responsible for the day to day running of streamlined and efficient processes in delivering a wide range of services, including but not limited to; record keeping and reporting, employee queries, pre-payroll reporting distribution, time and attendance (T&A) analysis and management, payroll run and report distribution, and end of service management. The role plays an essential role in delivering a Payroll cycle that is legally compliant and aligns with organisational objectives.

Financial:

  • Contributing to CI Log in either hard or soft savings and process improvement.
  • Analyse large data sets in time and attendance (T&A) records and single payroll input submissions from Operations to ensure legal compliance and alignment with internal policies.
  • Ensure accuracy of pay runs, prepayments, costing and associated reporting is done On Time In Full for all payrolls runs

Customer:

  • Manage and respond to employee queries and identify solutions regarding all payrolls run within a timely manner.
  • Ensure pay slip distribution is carried out within the same week as the salary release.
  • Outline all T&A exceptions across assignment payrolls to ensure compliance with payroll codes, fair and consistent T&A, and blank management.

Process:

  • Pre-payroll management: Payroll calendar management, T&A review, Retro applications and calculations.
  • Payroll management: Oracle payroll runs, Payroll reporting around gross to net, high salary, overtime, zero and negative management, T&A Detail, variance reporting etc
  • Post Payroll management: Oracle run Prepayments and Costing tasks and reporting.

Innovation:

  • Limit payroll error percentage through investigations into outputs of allowance elements.
  • Drive area specific process improvement and automation to reduce manual work.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • General knowledge in MS Office with advanced knowledge in excel,
  • Ability to generate and analyze payroll reports,
  • Understand payroll calculations and their legal applications,
  • Proficiency in payroll software Oracle ERP,
  • Knowledge of payroll audits and reconciliation processes,
  • Track and correct payroll issues and resolve discrepancies,
  • Competent English speaking and writing level.
