About the job
Job Purpose-
Manage and supervise of all the EPC activities of the Fabrication Department. Control and co-ordination of the Supervisors and Supervision for Fabrication Department relate to EPC works.
Technical competencies-
• Knowledge and experience in a EPC company or shipyard or offshore construction facility with vessel conversion and fabrication capability.
• Familiar with technical terms related offshore and new construction activities.
• Good steel fabrication and welding knowledge
• Strong background with resolution of technical issues during projects planning and execution phases.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with business objectives.
• Project management skills
Day-to-day operations-
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Fabrication Department EPC works, to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes, and procedures.
• Substituting the Fabrication Department Manager during his absence, when appointed so.
• Review of EPC job specifications and do gap analysis, pre-planning of priorities, establish production objectives, schedules to ensure timely delivery of all projects undertaken with required quality and safety standards.
• Review of EPC projects – fabrication sequences, assembly plan, ITP, construction procedures to ensure smooth delivery of the project.
• Coordinate with EPC Engineering for parallel engineering – deliverables priority to meet project schedule.
• Coordinate UT gouging and Structural scope finalization for EPC refurbishment projects.
• Support EPC Division during bid stage when requested by Department Manager.
• Participate in high level owner meetings,
• Evaluate the resource loading for Fabrication work across EPC projects allocated.
• Random inspection of worksite in order to make sure the optimum utilization of available resources, identify site modification required and get raise Technical Queries as required.
• Organize Heavy Lift activities – follow required documents for heavy lift and check required certificates.
• Control and coordinate with other disciplines along with Project Manager/ Construction Manager for construction sim-ops, clash checks identification and smooth progress of EPC projects.
Experience & Educational Background-
-Degree or equivalent in relevant field of Engineering.
-12 years working experience in EPC company or shipyard with conversion and new building facilities with minimum of 4 year as functional head.
-Project management experience in high value projects. Working experience in major EPC company and heavy industrial segments.
-Safety Management training and PMT ,CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 Quality inspector or AWS CWI Qualified inspector.
-PMT and IOSH · CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 Quality inspector or AWS CWI Qualified inspector.
