Assistant Manager – Human Resources
Location: India
The role of the HR manager is to align HR strategies effectively with business goals by managing employee life cycles such as recruitment, engagement, payroll, performance management, and personnel affairs. Furthermore, the role is responsible to bridge the relationship between management & employee and ensure compliance as per departmental procedures, local & legal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to manage & enhance the station’s human resources team by planning, implementing and evaluating overall employee life cycle programs like recruitment, employee engagement, governance, payroll, performance management and other employee relation initiatives
- Partner with the leadership team, department heads to understand and execute talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs.
- Monitor implementation of the SOPs by the team and follow up on the deliverables of each sections as required. This includes the following;
-Recruitment – Supervise recruitment process ensuing process steps are completed within the specified timelines and the onboarding formalities proceed seamlessly.
-Payroll – Monitor monthly payroll process for effective and accurate functioning ensuring salaries & other dues are paid on time through proper channels.
-HR activities & services – Oversee attendance records, uniform distribution, staff satisfaction survey process, exit process, appraisal process, etc ensuring effectiveness and execution of programs
-Employee Engagement – Manage engagement programs, rewards & recognition programs and handle day to day employee requests
-Grievance/ Violations – Ensure to conduct an adequate formal investigation with proper documentation from initiation to recommend and implement appropriate disciplinary actions within the specified SLA. Also, collaborate with the legal team as required.
-Personnel – Constantly follow up on the execution of all admin procedures related to government/labor law are accurate and reconcile issues if any.
-Accommodation & transportation– Monitor as well as manage cost and availability of accommodation & transportation ensuring effectiveness of services being provided (wherever applicable)
-Collective Bargaining Agreement – Overseeing, negotiating collective bargaining agreements with unions while managing dispute resolution involving employees, unions, government agencies, other firms, etc. and advising management (wherever applicable)
- Work on stations manpower plan ensuring target structure is maintained throughout the year, also ensure periodic revision of job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Responsible for implementing yearly performance appraisal in coordination with department heads ensuring performance evaluation of employees under the prescribed system
- Contribute to the development of technology, systems and dashboards to maintain HR data base, filing systems and related documentation for ensuring compliance as per the requirements.
- Develop and maintain SOPs (standard operating procedures) for HR processes; monitor implementation and evaluate efficiency, identify areas of raising efficiency and effectiveness and to improve performance, policies, and programs.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree. MBA Preferable
- Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in Human Resources in a supervisory or management role
- Leadership and Team-building skills along with strong analytical and Problem-solving skills
- Effective Communication, Interpersonal skills and Timely decision making
- Knowledge of oral and written English.

Duty Manager
Location: Uganda
The Duty Manager is responsible for all aspects of the station operations in Cargo, Passenger, Ramp Handling, and GSE Maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
- Implement Customer Airlines SLA to ensure we are fully compliant and achieve all targets.
- Implement company policies and procedures, promoting safety, security, and people management practices and ensuring compliance with all airport policies.
- Ensure the business units remains fully compliant with NAS Corporate standards and all relevant industry, regulatory and national legal requirements.
- Lead and motivate teams to deliver excellent quality and high productivity.
- Directing and motivating Section Supervisors to achieve agreed targets.
- Producing routine reports and monitoring the implementation and use of existing performance measurement tools such as Power BI, OCC, and any other IT Innovation tools.
- Comply with relevant station Safety requirements and procedures outlined in NAS-EBB station Safety Management Manual (SMM)
- Comply and adhere to standard operating procedures, circulars, directives, bulletins, instructions, and notices.
- Report workplace hazards and near misses to immediate supervisors and or station QHSE department
- Provide valuable inputs to QHSE department of during accident/incident investigations
- Submit hazard/ near miss- occurrence report or a confidential report as required
- Supports as and when internal and or external Safety and quality audits occur.
- Provide inputs during risk assessment process as applicable, support and participate Safety investigations as and when occur.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Degree in any related field.
- Work Experience of 5 years with management experience in airport ground handling
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate cross functionally in a unionized environment, as well as with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of oral and written English.
