Obstetrics & Gynaecology Specialist

Carries out obstetrician and gynecologic health care, both on an in-patient and out-patient basis, for those patients designated as being entitled to such care by.

1. Will perform professional duties as an obstetrician/gynecologist 
2. Providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the O.P.D. for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
3. Covering the Delivery Room to include admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action, performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
4. Covering the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
5. Providing out-patient care in Clinics, when so assigned by the head of department.
6. Doing and interpreting ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out-patient basis.
7. Interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring and taking appropriate action.
8. Carrying out formal and informal consultations from physicians from other departments.
9. Attending committee meetings when so assigned by the Head of department.
10. Interacting with patients’ families to keep them informed of the patient’s condition, changes in condition and plans.

2. Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
3. Three years residency in obstetrics and gynecology culminating in procuring a Post Graduate Masters degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
4. Must have DOH License to practice.
5. Three or more year’s exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification.
6. An excellent command of written and oral English.
7. Basic knowledge of medical Arabic desirable
8. Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics.
